The original book was written by spy master writer John Le Carre, and featured lead character George Smiley as a retired agent brought back to find a Soviet Mole. The Lighthouse was originally a book and was adapted into a highly atmospheric movie adaptation. The whole movie was shot in black and white, and there is minimal talking throughout. The atmosphere that director Robert Eggers is able to generate is staggering.
